Gas Servicing

Why we inspect our tenants' gas appliances gas appliances every year.

"The Gas Safety (Installation and Use) Regulations 1998; Regulation 36 Duties of Landlords require landlords of domestic property to ensure that gas installation pipework, gas appliances (other than an appliance that the tenant is entitled to remove from the premises) and associated flues are maintained in a safe condition, that annual safety checks are carried out by a competent person and that records are kept and issued to tenants."

It is the Company’s responsibility, under these regulations, to ensure that all of Tor Homes' properties with gas installation are inspected every 12 months and given a gas safety certificate. Failure to comply with the Regulations is a criminal offence.

If you have gas installation at your property you will be sent an appointment each year and asked to provide access to our team of gas installers. It is very important that you make an alternative appointment if you are not able to keep this appointment.

Failure to allow access for gas servicing and inspection can result in legal proceedings.

The gas installers who work on behalf of Tor Homes are CORGI registered and hold a current ID card from the Construction Industry Training Board (CITB) listing the areas of gas work that the installer can undertake.
